As our Healeys age we often need quality parts to keep them on the road, particularly now that we are entering the prime driving season. And don’t forget that the Enclave 2022 is only three months away! What could be better than a long-established parts source which is owned by Suart Arbeit who has nearly fifty years’ experience in the business. And he’s a British car nut like us.
On July 23 we are planning a tour of Custom Spares Ltd. located at 997 NY-22, Brewster, NY. Stuart will begin the tour with a presentation describing the parts business for sports and foreign cars starting in the 1950s through recent times, based on his own experiences. The focus of the discussion will start on our British treasures. The store is loaded with vintage and rare parts he has accumulated over many years. Stuart also reproduces and manufactures numerous parts to high quality standards which he will describe and display. He is also a distributor for brands such as Pertronix and Koni shocks. It is very possible Stuart may have some deals available.
You can visit their website at https://customsparesltd.com and see what parts they offer and manufacture. Note it is not an interactive, online order site. Notice the distributor caps with brass contact poles versus the aluminum we usually get today.
A nearby restaurant will be available for those who would like to have lunch and refreshments together. The tour will begin at 10:00 AM sharp and last about two hours. There is a limit of 30 for this tech session.
If you would like to attend, contact Ted Cryer at ccryer@hvc.rr.com or 845-256-0876.
